AI writing
AI writing is off until you turn it on. It sends only the text one request needs, never your name or contact details, and our service keeps none of it. Everything else in Resumo works offline.
What it does
- Rewrites or improves an entry's bullets.
- Drafts a summary, and suggests skills, from what you have already written.
- Sorts notes you type into a new resume.
- For a job description you paste, suggests edits to a copy of your resume and drafts a cover letter.
The examples under bullets, summaries, skills and letter paragraphs work without it, and so does finding the terms a job asks for, which happens on your phone.
Turning it on and off
The first time you tap an AI link, Resumo shows what will be sent, who processes it and what they keep, with Turn on AI writing and Not now. Before the first request that sends most of your resume, or your notes for a new one (tailoring to a job, drafting a letter, or sorting notes into a resume), it asks once more.
Settings, then AI writing, turns it off and shows what is left of your free try or your plan.
What is sent
Only the text one request needs: an entry's bullets with its title and organisation, the parts of your resume the request uses, or the notes you type for a new resume; a job's description, company and role when you give them; and, if you told Resumo which describes you best (a student or recent graduate, experienced in your field, or changing careers), that answer.
Your name, email, phone number, address, links, date of birth, nationality, photo, signature and the other personal lines in your resume are never sent. Resumo also removes email addresses, phone numbers and web addresses from the text before it leaves your phone, and puts [name] where your name appears in it.
Who processes it, and what is kept
The screen that turns AI writing on names who processes your text and what they keep, as our service reports it, and Resumo asks you again before sending anything if that ever changes. Our service keeps no copy of your text or of the reply. To count your AI uses and prevent abuse, it keeps a random ID for this installation and a record of each request without its text. The privacy policy has the details.
It keeps to your facts
It uses only what you wrote. Where a sentence needs a number you did not give, it leaves a blank for you to fill: [number], [percent], [amount] or [time], and in a cover letter [company], [role] or [name]. Resumo remembers each one, and the download warning, and the checklist when it is on, point to any you have not filled.
AI can still be wrong, so check that every suggestion is true before you keep it. Each one says so, and has Report if something is wrong with it. Nothing goes into your document until you tap to use it, and Undo takes it back.
How much you can use
AI writing is free to try once on each phone, and the free try does not reset. After that it comes with a plan: a day, a week or three months. The line under each AI link says what is left, and on a plan when it comes back. Only a result you are shown counts; a request that fails never does. More in Plans and purchases.
Where it is offered
In the countries where Anthropic offers its Claude model, and not yet in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Resumo checks your app store's country on your phone, and our service checks which country a request comes from. Where it isn't offered, Resumo doesn't offer it, and everything else works the same.
If it doesn't work
- It needs an internet connection. Offline, the examples still work.
- If AI writing is paused, Resumo says so. Try again later.
- If Resumo asks you to update it, update it from your store to keep using AI writing.
- Otherwise tap Try again, or Email us from the message, which says what you were doing and holds none of your text.
Deleting your AI data
Settings, then AI writing, then Delete my AI data deletes this installation's record, its counts and its reports from our service at once. A plan you bought stays yours, with the store.
Still stuck?
